Alternative Education
Alternative education is being imparted to over 50,000 children across the country.The children are provided with shelter, healthcare and mid-day meals
Shelter Homes and Observation Homes
★ Children live in hazardous conditions they fall victim to multiple forms of abuse and various sorts of social maladjustments. Prayas reached out to them and set up several shelter homes in Delhi.
For children in conflict with law, Prayas has been running an observation home at Delhi Gate, in partnership with Delhi Government under the Juvenile Justice Act.
Health and Nutrition
Through clinics and 24 hr primary health centres Prayas supports those who cannot afford healthcare. Weekly health camps spread awareness in the communities. Children in Alternative Education with Prayas are also provided with mid-day meals.
Economic Empowerment
★To women and children above 14 years of age Prayas provides vocational training. Prayas also supports over 10,000 women through self helpgroups where they are given support and taught to be independent and start their own business.
Advocacy
★Prayas with its policies and programmes across India is a model to emulate, their Institute of Juvenile Justice is implementing this through Advocacy, Research and Networking.
Childline
★Prayas is running a 24-hour childline for children. People can call in to report about child in distress. Prayas is involved in running the Delhi operations of the nationwide service.
Recreation
★The plays and performances organised by Prayas are the ideal therapy for a child recovering from trumatic experiences .
