About the Project in brief

The Project formally inaugurated on 16th September 2004 as a joint venture between Robin Raina Foundation and Prayas to set up a new community based sponsorship programme for nearly 100 neglected children and their families at Bawana Resettlement Colony, Delhi under the name of Raina- Prayas. The families of these children have been uprooted from Yahmuna Pushta slum clusters near Rajghat, New Delhi by the Municipal authority and have been relocated at Bawana in North-West Delhi.

Objective of the Project

The aim of the Raina Prayas project is to cater to the educational needs of the children living in marginalized communities, where the access to education is primarily minimal or none at all. These children live in such an environment where education is given the least priority. The programme has therefore been designed keeping in view the background and requirements of these children.

  • Provision of Regular Health monitoring of children
  • To provide an environment in which the children can get prepared for primary schooling.
  • To monitor cases of malnutrition of children and provide them with supplementary nutrition.
