Dear PRAYAS FRIENDS,

Greetings from Prayas JAC Society!

This year to celebrate ‘Children's Day’ which coincides with Prayas Founders Day, we have decided to organize a “Run for Children” on the eve of Children’s Day i.e. November 13,2011. For everyone who participates in the event , its an opportunity to experience the unique pleasure of running a mile with the children from underprivileged society with amazing strength and grace and try to create a niche for them in the society .  Prayas is joining hands to celebrate the event  with other children NGOs of Delhi ,Govt. and Private schools ,Corporate and other organizations who have the heart to share with the less privileged among the children.

Prayas Juvenile Aid Centre Society is a national level humanitarian, gender sensitive and Child focused development organization operating 231 centers including 11 Homes for children across the country in 08 States/UTs directly serving about 50,000 beneficiaries, marginalized children and over 11,000 youth and women addressing the multiple issues and programs relating to child protection and juvenile justice, trafficking of children and women, vocational and  life skills training, empowering women through Self-Help Groups and Income Generation Programmes, promotion of entrepreneurship, facilitating credit through bank linkages and also direct micro finance operations. The organization is envisioned to restore the lost childhood of neglected, destitute and underprivileged children and support youth and women of the areas where it operates.

The Run for Children will start at 7am (till 9.30 am) from Central Secretariat Ground, Vinay Marg Chanakya puri (adjacent to Nerhu Park ) proceed to  Laxmi bai Nagar, Indira Nike tan Girls hostel Via Leela Palace. The return lap will return through Laxmi Bai Nagar, Indira Nike tan Girls Hostel and terminate at Central Secretariat Ground. Before and After the Run, Children present will put up  colourful performances .

We request you to join us in solidarity and in spirit on 13th of November, 2011 in the “Run for Children”. Your presence and your support would add grace to the occasion and boost the morale of the participants and motivate the staff to carry the activities further.

(A copy of Budget has been attached for your kind perusal. Any support extended by your good-self will be used for providing better facilities to the marginalized children)
